Shantica Dawkins is a Marketing graduate student at Florida International University. This United States Marine Corps veteran has served 10 years of active duty service with multiple job billets around the world, in places like  Venezuela, Riga, Latvia, Afghanistan and Germany. When she isn't studying, she spends her free time recording Youtube videos for her channel MegaTica12 and playing tennis for the Fort Lauderdale Tennis League. Her vision is to one day own her own advertising company and spread positive marketing around the world.

Vanessa Cassis attended Northeast High School and graduated from Florida A&M University with her undergraduate degree in Accounting and Masters Degree in Business Administration. While in high school she graduated top 10% of her class, was Senior Class President, and was awarded with the MOST scholarships and awards in her graduating class. She has taken numerous internships and positions from large corporations that you all may have heard about Apple, General Electric, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, and Cardinal Health. After a few years in Medical Device Sales with Cardinal Health she has now ventured into wholesale real estate where she aids and educates the community when they are going through pre-foreclosure.

Elisabeth Etienne-Cassis is a freshman at Dillard High School with the gpa of 3.725. She is currently in the digital entrepreneurship magnet program, a member of the Sankofa club, and a liaison for the Portabella organization. She tutors math weekly and occasionally volunteers at local homeless shelters. She is a great contribution to this community. Please welcome Elisabeth Etienne.

Gabrielle Dawkins is eager to tell stories in a way that captures a variety of audiences while also shedding light on important issues facing our community.

 

Gabrielle is an SEJC and SPJ award-winning journalist, with excellent broadcast, production and performance skills.

 

Born in Hollywood, Florida, she started her passion in journalism as an anchor for the morning news announcements in fifth grade at Watkins Elementary School. 

 

She continued that same passion to adulthood. In her undergraduate experience at Florida A&M University, she studied abroad in China, worked as a correspondent for Sirius XM radio, and gained knowledge at several internships including Viacom, WCTV, and Cumulus Media.

 

As a FAMU rattler, she was the voice behind FAMU headlines on WANM 90.5, noting the important news in the Tallahassee area. She was an anchor for News 20 at Five, and also created documentaries that highlighted the commute for the blind and hunger in the community.

 

Living by the quote “only she can stop herself,” her work ethic, education, and dedication to the field of journalism has equipped her with all the necessary tools to be successful. 

 

She joined NBC2 in June 2018. Some of her duties include setting up interviews, pitching stories, and performing live for the 5 and 6 o'clock newscast.
