Gabrielle Dawkins
Gabrielle Dawkins is a SEJC and SPJ award-winning journalist, with excellent broadcast, production and performance skills. She is eager to tell stories in a way that captures a variety of audiences while also shedding light on important issues facing our world as a multimedia journalist.
Born in Hollywood, Florida, she started her passion in journalism as an anchor for the morning news announcements in fifth grade.
Living by the quote only she can stop herself, her work ethic, education, and dedication to the field of journalism has equipped her with all the necessary tools.
In 2014, she was an anchor for News 20 at Five, an on-campus news station that airs live to over 80,000 people. The newscast won the 2014 SPJ All-Around Television Newscast and placed 5th in the SEJC Best College Video News Program.
In 2016, she started working at 13 WMAZ Eyewitness News as a Multimedia Journalist in Macon, Georgia.
Some of her duties include setting up interviews, pitching stories, editing packages daily for the 5 and 6 o'clock newscast and showcasing stories that impact thousands of people in the community.
